What is the New York State Office of Mental Health Medication Grant Program?

The New York MGP provides coverage for the cost of certain psychiatric medications for people with mental illness who are eligible for Medicaid. The program specifically helps people being discharged from hospitals operated or licensed by New York State Office of Mental Health, or being released from state prisons and local correctional facilities. While awaiting Medicaid benefits, the program assists individuals by providing access and coverage to mental health medications at no cost.
